Hey everyone. I'm experiencing a problem with the visible "Contours" in lighting effects. Specifically, in game cinematic scenes the lighting doesn't appear as a smooth gradient. Instead, I notice distinct lines between the varying shades of darkness, resembling a contour map. The transitions between light and dark aren't seamless. Could there be an adjustment I'm missing? Is the issue with my monitor settings? It's consistent across all games and videos. Please let me know if my gamma or brightness might be too high. Thanks in advance!

This behavior is typical because the panels are illuminated from the edges. A gradient effect naturally appears outward from the light source toward the periphery.

@Skiiwee29 So its essentially inevitable? I thought i remembered playing games where all lighting effects were a smooth gradient and there weren't noticeable transitions between the gradients. Is this one of those "power of suggestion" things, where after playing a game at 144fps VS 60fps, I am finally able to notice the difference? ha ha

It might rely on the specific game engine and differ across titles, but it’s most likely a mix of both plus edge-lit panels.

Thanks @Skiiwee29. Perhaps my nose is closer to the screen now than before. Ha ha. Cheers!
