Hello... I just discovered there might be malware or a remote access tool installed. My Windows Defender keeps alerting me about detected threats and warns me to take action, but I can't launch any other antivirus since I only have Windows Defender available. I encounter an internal error when trying to install Malwarebytes and the restore point feature blocks me, claiming a virus is preventing the process. I've tried everything without success! EDIT: Windows Defender reappeared, stating the malware will be removed after a restart. I attempted it again now. EDIT 2: After restarting, the restore point seems accessible.

Have you considered restoring Windows by reinstalling it? Alternatively, you could install Malwarebytes on a USB drive using a different computer, connect the USB to your main PC, and execute the portable version.

Hello, Enderman! Your question is clear—I'm trying to reinstall Windows but don't have a separate machine. The virtual version of Windows 10 might be helpful.

I haven't needed to reinstall Windows 10 before, but I'm sure finding tutorials online would be a great way to safely remove the virus completely.

You're asking about the potential damage of this virus. It seems to be interfering with your antivirus setup and triggering Windows Defender alerts.

Use the built-in recovery method for your branded PC—such as Dell, HP, or Acer. If it fails, boot from a USB and erase the hard drive.

Based on the infection type—whether it's malware or something else—the impact varies. Some threats have minimal effects, while others may harm hardware. The likelihood of serious damage remains very low.
