Virus redirecting to Bing
Virus redirecting to Bing
Hello, I'm experiencing a strange problem with my father's computer. When he visits bing.com, he's directed to suspicious sites that claim he has a virus and ask for a phone number. I understand this is fake. I've tried several antivirus programs—Kaspersky TDSS Killer, Malwarebytes, HitmanPro, AdwCleaner, Junkware Removal Tool, Emsisoft—and they don't help. It happens across all web browsers. To summarize: typing www.bing.com redirects to malicious pages. Thanks, TheMastr13
It could be managed through the control panel. Most browsers have a feature to restore their default settings (see http://www.howtogeek.com/171924/how-to-r...-settings/). Consider trying it.
You launch it and check for unusual symbols. It’s a utility commonly found in Windows to register local DNS entries (such as linking "router" to "192.168.1.1" for easier access). Unfortunately, this straightforward function also makes it simple for someone with limited technical skills to interfere with your system.
It has some unusual phrases. I believe they’re the cause. Please wait a moment, and I’ll respond again.
