Operating system is Windows 11, attempting to run an older version which is very slow. The mouse in the virtual machine feels sluggish during installation, and a BSOD appears mid-installation with "IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL." Also, Linux Mint Cinnamon failed right after launching. Hardware specs: CPU 12900K, 32GB RAM, 2GB allocated per VM, using VDI and VMHDK virtual drives on an 860EVO SSD.

Turn off Hyper-V in VirtualBox completely, making it much harder to use on Windows machines. This is increasingly difficult because Windows now relies on it for tools like WSL and WSA.

No, you can't use both WASD and VirtualBox simultaneously.

Nope, at least not without a reboot inbetween. You can copy the boot entry with Hyper-V forced disabled which will give you a boot menu to choose from: https://stackoverflow.com/a/43843318 Had to switch from Virtualbox to VmWare because of that, VmWare can work fine with Hyper-V on but the free version is way more limited unfortunately.

I set up the VMware, though I haven't used it much yet. It looks straightforward and the performance is great. Appreciate the advice!
