Virtual Memory issue ?
Updated: I realized I had the optional hyper v enabled before attempting a virtual machine setup, which I later abandoned. The system rebooted after using the Uninstaller feature, and the virtual memory was reduced from its initial allocation to 49,152MB. The original size was approximately 391,520MB; I need to verify the original screenshot for confirmation. This topic is being updated from a mobile device at this time.
I believe there are some system stability problems that aren't connected to your attempt at setting a static pagefile. Consider running targeted tests to examine individual components under stress. Begin by launching HWiNFO64 with sensor mode and logging on, then start Furmark for GPU and Linpack Xtreme for CPU (don't run them simultaneously). If you encounter BSODs, reboots, freezes, or crashes, those are signs of stability issues. The HWiNFO64 log could help identify the source of the problem.
After noticing Hyper-V was activated, I chose not to experiment with a Virtual Machine going forward.
I completed two runs of Cinebench R23—Single Core & Multi Core.
Battlefield 2042 has remained stable; the game ran for over an hour last night across three rounds without any freezes.
I plan to test other benchmarks such as Furmark and LinPack Xtreme for CPU performance, ensuring Hardware Info is set to Logging mode.
Tuesday I’m organizing a monthly dust cleaning if everything goes smoothly with RL, so there’s no disruption when I intend to do it.
Earlier, I experienced stability problems when setting up the PC in July 2024 by following a YouTube guide—turning on PBO, enabling Curve Optimizer in UEFI BIOS, and applying recommended settings. The system would crash unexpectedly, so I disabled it in BIOS and set PBO Max Temp to 85°C (on Air Cooling).
After updating to the latest Stable UEFI BIOS, I applied Load Optimized defaults, configured Expo, PBO Max Temp, and saved without further changes. At that time, the system was running UEFI Bios 2.6+, which was very outdated—likely because the system builder didn’t update it before leaving the factory.
Recently, Battlefield 2042 started freezing during play, but I didn’t encounter any other issues. It appears the problem has resolved since then, as I played it last night and three rounds afterward without any problems.
