Is this the top choice for a hard drive? The Black model isn't terrible, though your unit might offer a better option.

They're handling the black side for now... My main worry is the 980. I won't be able to handle the 4K well...

I looked through YouTube videos and found many that say 60fps equals 30.

I'm enjoying 4K TV while watching Marco Polo on Netflix! Maybe it's just 24fps, heh.

It's acceptable for the file size, but a 50Mbps at 1440p after encoding would appear poor on YouTube. D:

I won't upload the 1440p at 50Mbps to YouTube. I'll upload a 1080p at 60fps instead, and then place the 1440p/4K version in a torrent so people can download it if they prefer higher quality than what's available on YouTube.

Shadowplay results in significant data loss when trying alternative formats, resulting in much bigger files.

I'm struggling to reach 60fps. Performance stays around 40-50fps or higher. 4K footage runs at 24-26fps. Everything is captured using flash.

In IT, "lossy" compression refers to techniques that apply approximate representations or discard parts of the data to achieve smaller file sizes.
