Yesterday I attempted to set up AltStore on my PC, which involved installing iTunes and iCloud. Once everything was installed, I had to restart Windows. After the reboot, the lock screen prevented me from using the keyboard or mouse, so I pressed the power button and shut it down. When I turned it back on, I noticed some repair activity on my D-drive—specifically around the videos and music folders. The screen displayed progress at the bottom with white text on a black background. Now I’m concerned because my video and music files are missing, their folders are empty. It seems only these folders are affected, though the data might still be present, as my video folder is quite large (possibly several hundred GB or even 1 TB). The memory usage hasn’t been released yet. My question is: How can I recover these files? I’m trying to figure this out on my own and would appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks!

Thank you for your reply. I didn't bother to revisit this since I anticipated receiving an email notification. In the end, I realized what transpired. Essentially, the windows fixed my disk, resulting in the formation of D:\found.000, where it relocated or duplicated all the files. Using Recuva helped me retrieve them. For a more thorough account, refer to the provided link.
