Hi, I have Windows 11 Pro. When I try to watch a demo video in the Video Playback tab of the Settings, it doesn't look smooth. This same problem happens when I play videos from my hard drive that are not online. However, playing videos on YouTube online works fine. My Nvidia 3060 Ti card is working well for gaming too.

I ran Windows Troubleshoot, and here are the results:
Checking video driver version... Done. Issue not present: The current graphics driver has known issues. Checking for generic failure... Done. Issue not present: Graphics driver returned an error. Checking HEVC Codec status... Done. Issue not present: HEVC Codec is not installed. Checking HWDRM status... Done. Issue not present: Can't Play 4K videos. Checking display... Done. Issue not present: Display using low resolution. Checking if video driver is installed... Done. Issue not present: Basic graphics driver is installed. Checking for protected audio... Done. Issue not present: Protected audio is turned off. Checking for unsigned driver... Done. Issue not present: Video driver isn't digitally signed. Diagnostic scan completed! Please advise on how to fix? Thank you,

Hey, VLC or another player like that. Do you have a good computer setup so it runs smooth? Like the motherboard, the processor, and how much memory you got.

Is there a problem with the built-in Windows media player? Can you confirm if your software is actually the classic version? Here are my computer details: I have an MSI A520M-A PRO motherboard paired with a Gamemax 700W PSU rated for 80 Plus Bronze. It runs on an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 processor along with its original fan cooler. My graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, which has 16GB of DDR4 RAM running at 3200MHz. I also have a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD and the operating system Windows 11 Pro. Do I need to download a separate codec or add-on program?

did you try another player? mpc mediaplayer classic is an old but updated version for older windows versions. it can play most videos without needing codecs installed, just like vlc player. other than that, please update your drivers: your amd chipset, nvidia driver, and the motherboard's bios.

Hi coming back here, i need some help. I tried playing a video file but it wont work and instead took me to the Microsoft store to buy HEVC Video Extensions App for 79 or under a dollar. What's the best free way to get it working? Cheers,
