I've faced the same issue with both my 5120x1440@240Hz and 3840x2160@165Hz monitors. The problem stemmed from Multi-Plane Overlay, a default power-saving setting on Windows. To test it, open regedit, navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm", set the DWORD "OverlayTestMode" to 00000005, and restart your computer. Note that a recent Windows update might have restored this setting, though I haven't confirmed it on my system.

It looks like using this setup with both monitors running at identical refresh rates works quite well. It’s fine and practical, not distracting. Thanks a lot! Microsoft did a great job adding this feature.
