Video Lag and Frame Drops During Streaming/Recording with OBS Studio using the Shadowplay feature
I’d been accumulating funds for a GTX 1060 dual-fan model with 6GB of VRAM, primarily to enable recording gameplay from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege—my previous graphics card struggled significantly with the game. I recently installed it a week ago, and since then, I’ve been diligently attempting to establish stable recording functionality. Despite reducing my game settings and recording parameters, I haven’t achieved success. Furthermore, utilizing Nvidia ShadowPlay has proven unsuccessful, so I've experimented with OBS Studio paired with Nvidia’s custom encoder (NVENC H.264), but the resulting recordings have been significantly degraded. You can view examples of ShadowPlay footage in the linked YouTube video, and OBS recordings are noticeably inferior. I’ve extensively investigated this issue on YouTube and through these forums, which I believe represent the most helpful resources. I sincerely hope you can identify a resolution to this long-standing desire of mine.

Could you be saving footage to your computer’s storage device or broadcasting it live to YouTube? A sluggish hard drive might lead to comparable problems when attempting to store substantial video amounts during playback.
Another possibility is a lack of memory. Please attempt to shut down all unnecessary applications and subsequently record and play the video. Depletion of available memory can result in performance reductions. If applications are consuming RAM or utilizing your disk space, this can lead to slowdowns.
I haven’t worked with many video recording programs, so perhaps someone knowledgeable can suggest a software-based solution to address your problem.
1. Does performance slow down exclusively during recording?
2. During gameplay, if you access the task manager, what amount of RAM is being utilized? Are you experiencing memory limitations?
Recording with Shadowplay exhibits no lag, but the resulting video quality is poor. Conversely, when recording using OBS, 7.2 GB of RAM from my 8 GB system is consumed.

I'm experiencing a similar issue. Previously, I used a weaker graphics card and still managed to record Rainbow Six Siege at its lowest settings without problems. After upgrading my graphics hardware, the recordings have become noticeably sluggish, even when using the minimum settings.
