Video drivers for Kaby Lake HD Graphics 630 on Windows 7 x64
No one seems to confirm compatibility between Intel HD & Iris Graphics Drivers 21.20.16.4526 WHQL and HD Graphics 630 on Windows 7 x64. Check the igdlh64.inf line 155 and devid.info/237509 for details. Also, verify if 2D/3D functionality runs smoothly without crashes on Win7 x64.
I believe you may have misinterpreted the issue. So far, I’ve discovered that Intel HD & Iris Graphics Drivers Version 21.20.16.4526 support HD Graphics 630 and 100 series boards with Windows 7 x64. Windows 8.1 seems to work as well. The newer releases don’t. I’m unsure if it functions on 200 series boards, and we’ll need additional testing.
It looks like you've shared quite a bit here. The file you mentioned isn't from the official site. It seems the version number there is higher than what's listed on the official Intel website. The linked file claims to work with Windows 7, but it's unclear if all drivers on Intel's official site match that. For better updates, I'd suggest checking Intel's official site or the manufacturer's page for your device.
Intel drivers often include multiple version numbers for compatibility reasons. Asrock has released a newer version (21.20.16.4542) that works with Windows 7 x64 and Kaby Lake iGPU, while MSI provides an older version (21.20.16.4508) that is also compatible. The versioning reflects different release stages or support levels.
The latest WhQL release is 21.20.16.4526, which is the only one that supports installing HD Graphics 630 on Windows 7 x64. Updates from Intel won't work for this version. If you have HD Graphics 630 running Windows 7 x64, please let us know your experience. Thank you!
Did anyone else run additional checks? Anandtech keeps using version 7 on their test bench and completed iGPU evaluations on Kabylake without any reported problems in February. What’s the current status? Edit: Ignore listings for versions 7 or 8. It’s impressive how Microsoft pushes for adoption of 10.
Just verified compatibility of both versions with Kaby Lake iGPU and Windows 7 x64. Functioning well overall, though there are minor issues: 4508 shows performance problems in Cinebench R15 tests, and 4526 has scaling failures at certain resolutions.
