VGA light persists despite upgraded graphics card.
Last week I assembled a PC using an Asus Dual GeForce RTX™ 3060 Ti OC Edition and an Intel Core i5 13400F, paired with a Gigabyte B660 Gaming X DDR4 RAM. I upgraded the BIOS to the latest release since it was necessary for 13th-gen support. After installing Windows 11 from a USB drive and connecting a 2TB HDD for game storage, the system experienced frequent BSODs, loss of signal, and a VGA light illumination. I replaced the GPU with the same model and attempted to use it, but it still didn’t function properly—same VGA light and no signal. I also tried booting without hard drives and tested various power cables, yet nothing resolved the issue. I’m considering replacing the mainboard if other solutions remain unavailable.
It wasn't a VGA connection, it was a boot process, so try resetting the BIOS. What did the last BSOD say?
It's VGA, visibility is tough because I had to double-check for boot. The sequence looks like VGA-CPU-BOOT-DRAM. Could you try a different PCIe slot? Make sure the power cables are connected correctly and plugged in properly. This happened after a BIOS update—remove the CMOS battery, unplug the power cable, press the power button a few times, then start it without the battery first. See if you can get past the VGA LED and display. If not, a BIOS issue might require flashing back. Also verify the new CPU installation, cooler setup, and RAM status.
