I acknowledge that most of my configuration dates back over a decade. Switching to ASUS Optimal mode in the BIOS often leads to VGA malfunctions and black displays, forcing me to power down and reset the CMOS. Coming from a RX 580 build, I faced no issues with Optimal, which increased my CPU turbo from 3.9Ghz to 4.2Ghz. While minor, any boost helps when the GPU is being held back. I haven’t tackled manual overclocking before, but since Optimal seems aimed at maximizing performance, I reset it and adjusted the bclk instead. My CPU specs: Asus P8Z77-V Core i7 3770 Corsair Vengeance, 16GB DDR3 (XMP enabled), 750W PSU.

It's worth getting familiar with this. Most likely, the chip uses multiplier-based overclocking rather than a standard base clock adjustment. You might find it easier by checking some YouTube tutorials. ASUS Optimal mode is mostly promotional fluff—real performance improvements should come from overclocking through the multiplier and possibly tweaking core voltage for better speeds.
