Very strange problem.
Very strange problem.
Hello, I haven’t come across anything about this problem online, so I thought it would be best to begin a conversation.
I own a Lenovo LOQ 15ARP9 laptop with these specifications:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7435HS
GPU: RTX 4070
RAM: 24 GB
Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD
When playing games like CS2, I sometimes face a situation where my performance drops to just 30 FPS. A CPU monitoring tool shows my usage at 80-90%. But when I open Task Manager and return to the game, FPS jumps to 300 and CPU drops to 20-30%.
Task Manager doesn’t display any application using that much CPU, which adds to the confusion.
I’ve tried several things so far:
- Scanning for malware multiple times
- Repairing Windows system files
- Updating all drivers
- Applying various fixes
None of these have resolved the issue. If anyone has had a similar experience or knows how to fix it, please let me know.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Attempting different solutions
Consider checking if your laptop has any pending BIOS updates. If so, use DDU to eliminate all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then install the newest GPU driver from Nvidia's support site via an elevated command—Right click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
