Hey everyone, I just set up a system using spare parts. The specs were: i7 8700 Asus B365M-K, 16GB DDR4 2600MHz, RTX 2060, Super SSD 480GB. After updating the BIOS and enabling Secure Boot with PTT, everything started working fine. I played games and watched movies, left the PC running overnight to download Steam titles. When I opened it this morning, everything felt slow—task manager took 20-30 seconds, disk was at full capacity. I restarted, but it took a long time and services that used disk space froze, still very sluggish. CPU and disk usage are around 10%, which is normal but still slow. I'm currently stuck at about 17% during a Windows reset, which feels too long. Any thoughts? Could a failing SSD be the cause? Thanks for any advice!

Which Crucial SSD? Dram Cache? I'd hazard you did a lot of write speed and the disk queue went from milliseconds to many actual seconds, dramless cache will use SYSRAM as a write buffer but will still slowly write to disk while doing so with a large latency queue. /Might not be the reason, just something worth mentioning as some drives are better / worse than others. One of my dramless SSDs writes at JUST 8-15MB/s when all the buffers are taxing out and its in a very slow recovery. Which is why I'd never use it as a Primary drive.

Thanks for the update. It's a Ct480bx500, and you're correct—it works quite well. I wasn't aware of any bad performance before. I stopped trying to reset the windows. It took about 3.5 hours at 30% load. I checked the performance tab in Task Manager (took a few minutes to open), and the latency varied a lot—from 224ms to 900ms, which isn't ideal. I have a small amount of space on the board, so maybe using that would be better. Appreciate your help!
