Help with low FPS
Hi everyone, my FPS is usually around 75 for Rust. Sometimes it drops to 20.
CPU temperature is 39°C, GPU is 37°C.
CPU usage is at 53%, GPU usage 37%.
RAM usage is 49%.
I have an RTX 2060 with an i7-10750h processor and 32GB RAM.
Any suggestions on what might be causing this? Thanks in advance!
Also, I’m using a laptop and it’s plugged in.

The problem disappeared after updating to Windows 11. It seems another program updated to work with Windows 11, possibly affecting performance negatively. Or the recent fresh install of Windows might have fixed a previous issue. Thanks for the assistance.

What is the make and model of your laptop? Knowing this will be useful in two ways. While you're here, also check the BIOS version for your laptop as it was at the time of writing. If you can't find the BIOS, use CPU-Z under the Mainboard section to see your version. If you're using Windows 10, which version are you currently running?

Apologies for the delayed response, I was looking up the BIOS information.

I suspect the issue might be caused by a performance manager like Razer cortex, MSI afterburner, GeForce Experience, Windows battery management, or HP Omen gaming centre. None of these appear to have incorrect settings (I've reset many to default to troubleshoot). My laptop was functioning well before I went home yesterday. I'm using a different power supply (a spare bought from HP, matching the one it came with) and my laptop also turned on while in my bag, causing it to heat up. Could either of these factors be the cause? If so, how would you verify this?
