Hey there... upgrading your old PC sounds like a good plan. With a 320W PSU, GTX 1050, and an old CPU, you’ll want something that fits well without breaking the bank. As a student in Austria, I’d suggest looking for budget-friendly options that still work smoothly. Check out mid-range motherboards like the B550 or B660 series, paired with a compatible CPU such as an Intel i3 or AMD Ryzen 3. Keep it simple and affordable!

Really old means still functional and fits within your financial limits. It doesn’t mean a cheap build but one that works without major issues. Your spending limit would depend on what you value most—performance, future upgrades, or cost. You mentioned a budget around $464 for a solid upgrade, but you’re open to adjusting if needed.

Looking at an AMD Phenom 2 Max priced around 300€, paired with a Ryzen 5 2600, Gigabyte B450M DS3H, and 8GB of 2400MHz RAM sounds like a solid setup.

I misread "Australian" as Austrian, but you meant a PCPartPicker selection. The list includes various components and prices for your build.

Consider the R5 1600AF, a Ryzen 5 2600 hidden under the hood, priced below €100 (Geizhals lists it at €95,80 at Mindfactory).

Ryzen requires quicker RAM, ideally around 3600MHz, with a minimum of 3200MHz.
