Once the loop is finished, I plan to purchase 3-4 one-gigabyte sticks for my X58 system to operate in triple channel. I might also combine it with a $2 G2030 + $6 Z77 Extreme4 bundle. The reason behind this choice is to enable overclocking and RAM speed adjustments. I don’t mind the CPU overclocking or RAM modding; I’m okay with a Pentium processor. A 2500K will hardly matter compared to an overclocked Westmere multicore, even at 5GHz. However, a 2600/2700K could be worth considering if I can get one running at 5GHz or higher, assuming I upgrade from my current X5660 to an E5649 or better. This Z77 Extreme4 appears to be a good deal. Looking at the pinout, the two pins that seem damaged or unusable are VCC and VSS, which should still function since there’s plenty of those left. For example, my old P5Q Pro had a broken ground pin but worked perfectly afterward. I’m thinking of cleaning the board thoroughly—picking out dust clumps, bending pins, spraying with IPA, and it should be good again. Of course, I’ll also need to clean the entire board, maybe even submerge it in water if it’s really dirty, just like my G31M vs3 board did. The main concern is whether the pinout I’m checking is correct or not, because I don’t want to buy something that won’t be fixable with what I have.

The AsRock Z77 extreme 4 motherboard has some issues. I owned one after overclocking and it lost two slots. It was running at 2500K. The VCC pin is a power connection, and the VSS pin is for grounding. Missing either could cause problems, though the VCC pin seems likely to be missing. It seems you have the correct pinout, but there might still be something wrong.

It's a good deal at $6 and the ram slots seem fine unless they're dirty or the pins are worn out—maybe a quick rinse or spray with 99% IPA Ill Pro can fix them. The BIOS might need a serious update, possibly something like ASUS P77V Deluxe if ASRock doesn't deliver. These chips usually max out around 2.1–2.2 volts, which is why they're so limited. It's not that the CPUs are failing at that voltage; it's more about the design constraints. If my Samsung chip runs smoothly at 2.46V, I’ll test it first before jumping to another model.

Typically, most memory capacity stops improving beyond 2.1x. D9 could be an exception, though it usually follows the trend of decreasing gains.

My recent revision occurred between September 9 and November 24 at 2200mhz with 2 volts, then from November 8 to October 18 at 2200mhz at 2.46 volts. This might be an outdated model, which could explain why it's still holding on.

I was talking about my Samsung 1Gbit rev F, the D9 seems to be a much better option compared to this one based on timing. But I’m stuck with just two choices: Epson BDSE or D9JNX. The D9 can scale, but if the timing isn’t solid, it might not matter much. I’m not sure about Epson because I prefer something that doesn’t scale too much and won’t fail under voltage stress.

It's not quite the same as D9, though you've definitely got a decent frequency. The timing and voltage adjustments aren't ideal. From my experience with 1366 and DDR3 on a Rampage II, the IMC really impacts memory overclocking. My 980X doesn't match some Xeon chips in performance, but those Xeons don't maintain core speed as well.
