Double check on new build for Graphic Design
Hello,
A friend is beginning his own work as a graphic designer, video editor, and animator, covering both 2D and 3D. His budget is about 2,000 euros, including monitors. He isn’t familiar with computers and has trusted me on this matter, but I really don’t want to make any mistakes.

Someone on Reddit kindly provided a build, but I’d like to confirm a few things:
https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/h4vW4p
What are your thoughts? I was surprised not to see a 40xx graphic card there—maybe I’m biased since I only know about gaming.

Also, could the monitor be upgraded to something more suited for graphic design? And what would be the most affordable option if he chose a 24-inch second monitor?
Thanks a lot for your help.

You should highlight the app's details about potential system tax if he needs additional resources. Essentially, it's recommended to tailor your message with the information provided here; specifically, the advice on requesting a new build or upgrade.

Key points to include:
- Consider the tax implications of system upgrades.
- Use the guidance shared in this thread for building requests.

Here are the details you originally requested for this build:
* New build or upgrade?
A friend is beginning independent work as a graphic designer and professional animator post-graduation. He requires a complete new setup to start. His budget is approximately 2,000 euros (based in France).
* Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
None (previously used a laptop).
* PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc.)
Applications/games: Graphic Design, 2D - 3D animation.
Software: TvPaint, Photoshop, AfterEffects, dragon frame, Blender, Da Vinci Resolve, After Effects, Toons,...
* Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If not US, list local vendors)
France – prefers ordering parts online. Any recommendations for the most affordable options is greatly appreciated.
* Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Two monitors required: one high-end, 24'–26' wide, dedicated to graphic design with high resolution and color accuracy. Refresh rate is not a priority. A second, more affordable model for general use.
* Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
2,000 euros.
* WiFi or wired connection?
Both.
* Size/noise constraints?
Lives in a flat; smaller is preferable. Low noise level is essential.
* Color/lighting preferences?
No RGB matters – color isn’t important.
* Any other specific needs?
Operating system: Windows. I own a key for my personal PC several years ago, can I lend it to him?
Thank you very much.

The monitors differ in resolution to accommodate various display needs and ensure optimal performance.

There will be no issue with the difference in resolution.

I don't think it will, I was just wondering. I haven't examined professional color grading monitors myself, since I can't distinguish them because of my partial colorblindness.

I understand the impression. I once helped a film editor with a 20 000 euro monitor. I had to admit, I barely noticed the difference, but it made a big impact on him.
