Hey there, welcome! I noticed something unusual on my Windows 10 system when I got home. All my icons now show "check/correct" symbols. It’s not just the games—my desktop looks different too. I’m curious what this means and if anyone knows more about it. Maybe it’s related to checking for pirated software, but I’m not sure. Thanks for helping me out!

They're likely being saved to Microsoft OneDrive.

It seems surprising to me since I never configured anything for Microsoft's drives. Also, around the time I shared this, everything switched to an "X" as shown in the screenshot—looked like a web change without any notice.

You have a local account with no issues, and everything seems fine. I haven’t checked it yet. Updating your background clears things up.

Nothing altered yesterday, so I retained those "x's," though a fresh approach helped clear them up. Appreciate the advice! Still curious about their significance.

The symbol represents a connection point for sharing your workspace across a network. Your gaming sessions likely run on a connected device, allowing access from other devices on the same network.

I'm sending some files and folders from this machine to my Android, but I'm not sharing the desktop. I'm only transferring certain folders on an external drive, such as music and wallpapers. I just opened these folders to check if the icons showed up as expected, since none of them are shared. Please note that the symbol shows on all icons, folders, games, and software like Chrome. My games can be streamed via Steam and NVIDIA, but I don't own a shield device for that, and there isn't another computer connected to stream through Steam. Also, my games are local.

Have you set up any recovery tools? Which antivirus program are you using? I'm asking since some of these do that.

No backups are made and I rely on average... the icons stopped appearing after I updated the desktop, leaving me confused about why.
