Who shared that advice? Are you certain? The IHS exists not to generate heat, but to prevent us from damaging our cores as we did before. You might be able to push through and lose a corner, but the CPU usually survives most of the time. Nowadays, it’s unlikely you can succeed without consequences.
I understand the meaning. I’ve been pushing performance limits even when things were simpler.
