Verification Process and Logout/Reconnect Problems
I faced some Wi-Fi problems before and fixed it by switching channels. Recently, devices kept disconnecting unexpectedly across different systems—Android, Apple, Windows. I often had to reconnect manually, sometimes multiple times. My current auto-channel setting shows channel six, which was the one I set earlier. Someone suggested checking channel usage and choosing a less busy one. They didn’t follow up when I asked. On Discord, a user recommended downloading an analyzer app for my phone. I tried it but wasn’t sure what to look at. It seemed my channel had little competition, except two nearby networks—BT FON and BT X, which are company-operated 4G/Wi-Fi solutions.
Fixing Wi-Fi issues can be frustrating. It’s important to keep firmware current on all gadgets and verify signal quality by getting close to the router... ensuring a solid connection. Also, look into other users’ reports online for similar problems. If you’re using an outdated ADSL modem, switch it to Wi-Fi. My setup has moved the main router to a less optimal spot, so I turned off Wi-Fi on that device. On the old modem, I disabled its DHCP service, assigned it a fixed IP above the main router, and set up Wi-Fi there. As long as the device joined the network, it would automatically connect through Wi-Fi. This method works because the device links to the Wi-Fi router, while the main router handles the DHCP request and routes traffic correctly. The old modem acting as a Wi-Fi access point is essentially invisible—just like a silent “AOK” or “Sorted.” At least now you can test another router to see if the original was the problem.
