The Ryzen 5 3600 matches the 8700K in performance for both gaming and regular tasks. It consumes less power, generates significantly less heat, costs much less, and doesn’t need a costly motherboard. The 3700X outperforms the 2700 while being nearly half the price.

Neither option is ideal. My system has an 8th generation i7 that's extremely hot and demands significant cooling, consuming more power than many GPUs. It won't be enjoyable to use. The 2700 model, on the other hand, is slower in single-threaded tasks, which means gaming performance will be reduced. However, if you prioritize quiet operation, I struggle to suggest the i7 unless you invest heavily in a capable board and a reliable cooler. Performance at 1.3v is decent, but 4.7 at that speed indicates a lot of heat generation. A poor LM application might cause the CPU to degrade gradually over time due to corrosion and trace failures.

We assume everything is handled properly. Requiring extreme cooling sounds exaggerated. I’m using a modest cooling setup with a cryogenic H7 and 5GHz, at 1.38v—it runs quietly and stays cool.

Uncertain about the condition. Likely a used component. Might be someone who misused a deli tool and applied a lot of liquid without proper protection or tape.
