Vcore voltage insufficient?
I just reviewed the GamersNexus video about LLC. Vdrop seems to be a protective feature according to my understanding. Could Vdrop be triggering the random crashes when the system runs with default settings except for memory (Auto everything)? I noticed these crashes occurred occasionally, around every 20 days on the Tomahawk board, and they were more common on the Asrock B450 HDV R4.0. Updated: If I set it to 3.45 GHz manually at 1 V, I can recreate the random failures.
The Load Line Calibration is specifically designed for the v-droop fix. You can experiment without needing the maximum; trying a lower level, such as lvl 2, might help identify if the problem appears more frequently. It offers flexibility in testing.
Hello! Here’s a revised version of your update:
The issue remains unresolved. It seems to be related to low voltage on the CPU, though the exact cause isn’t clear yet. It might still be due to Vdroop, and even after adjusting LLC settings, it persists. I’ve noticed a slowdown in my cursor movement, which usually signals an impending crash. Fortunately, Hwinfo logged a very low CPU voltage around 0.54 V. According to MSI documentation for their boards, mode 1 appears to be the optimal setting instead of mode 8. I’m attempting mode 3 this time.
