Vcore higher than setting
Vcore higher than setting
Hey there, new OC user. I see you're working with an i5 4670K and a MSI Z97 Gaming 5 MB. Your core multiplier is at x44, and the vcore/ring voltage is set to override values of 1.200 and 1.165. You mentioned that during stress tests, your vcore increases by about 0.008, but no matter what you adjust, it stays the same. The Cstate is stuck at C7. You're wondering what else you could tweak without causing other issues. Thanks for reaching out!
I think the configuration you're referring to is CPU Vdroop Offset on MSI boards. It's safe to keep it unchanged if your system runs smoothly under load. The main goal of LLC is to compensate for changes in auto voltage when current rises. A slight increase of 0.008 in vcore suggests LLC is functioning correctly, as you'd expect a minor voltage drop otherwise.
