The software from Asus that comes with the motherboard is displaying 80+ degrees, whereas RealTemp shows 88-93 degrees. Which one should be trusted? I'm checking an overclocked i7 6700k on an ASUS Maximus VIII Hero motherboard with liquid cooling and ID Cooling 240l.

I would save this and receive a third perspective:

those temperatures appear a bit elevated, particularly with water cooling...

There are two distinct temperatures to track on the CPU:
1. The overall CPU temperature, which tends to be lower
2. The core temperature, which usually runs higher

Which component is the main focus and which is the CPU? The real temperature displays only four distinct values, yet no CPU readings are visible.

Which component is the main unit and which is the CPU? The realtemp only displays four distinct temperatures, but I didn’t notice any CPU readings... I use realtemp, so you should be looking at those values.
