Adhere to the instructions provided by the documentation for each Linux distribution. Usually, you set up Windows first, then reduce the partition, and finally install Linux in the remaining space.
I usually start with a smaller section first; there’s nothing worse than reducing later after the install. Still, it’s generally the standard approach—just keep an eye out for problems if you turn on certain advanced features like secure boot.
While installing Windows, you have the option to remove partitions and then select the new button to apply custom sizes. Create a partition for Winblows and another for Penguin. Reducing size isn't an option, but when a drive requires formatting, it's often best to simply repartition it.
