Hello, I recently purchased another set of Corsair RGB Pro (2x8gb) with 3200mhz and a frequency range of 16-18-18-36 to complement my existing sticks, which are the same model, timing, and frequency. I noticed a version difference between the new set I bought and my current ones. My existing sticks are version 4.32, while the new ones are 5.22. I bought my old sticks about a year ago. I looked into this and discovered that the older ones (version 4.32) use Samsung chips, and the newer ones (version 5.22) use Hynix chips. Will the new pair be compatible with my older ones? I haven’t tested them yet, so I can return them if they don’t work. It’s strange because in past builds I’ve mixed memory with very different specs and models, and it still functioned. I don’t intend to overclock them, but I’d like to run them at their XMP profiles or push them up to 3200mhz. Thanks in advance! Howard
If the clocks and settings match, there should be no problems. You're right, it's safer to ensure kits are closely aligned rather than completely different, just to avoid any issues.
I know it's an old thread but did you manage to run them both ? I have same ram as u and I've having issues with the xmp
