Various issues encountered with the f*beep*ing Windows 10 Creators Update
After installing the Windows 10 1703 Creator's Update, everything on my machine became quite chaotic. I’m running three 1440p monitors, as shown in my system details. Following the update, the icons on the left side of my middle monitor started moving to unpredictable spots on either the middle or left screen, and when I tried to bring them back, they kept shifting to random locations. After repeating this process numerous times, they eventually settled into a correct position on the left monitor. This is really frustrating because I prefer a neat and organized desktop. Have anyone else faced similar issues? My second issue is that Windows now randomly adjusts every volume level after a reboot. It always sets my headset to a low volume of 20, even though I want it at 30. It also messes with the volume settings in iTunes, YouTube, Twitch, and other apps, changing them to arbitrary values each time I restart. It’s incredibly annoying to have to reset everything every time I turn off my computer. Do you have any experience with this kind of problem? I couldn’t find much information about it on Google—it just highlights how frustrating this update is.
I faced problems saving images in Chrome, which would cause the browser to crash. Opening files in Photoshop or other programs also led to crashes. After a fresh installation, the issues disappeared. Hopefully this is resolved for you.
Someone visiting this discussion has discovered a fix for my original issue. The issue persists even with Windows 10. When your desktop icons move to unexpected spots, it’s because you have several icons sharing the same name. Simply delete or rename those duplicates and your problem should disappear.
