Various GPU issues (OS and game lag, black screens, buffering delays, slow startup)
When I power on my PC, several issues may occur. It might take more than five times longer to boot, or it could run extremely slowly. Sometimes it starts fine but then freezes in the OS or games, or it may display a black screen. During YouTube playback with hardware acceleration enabled, videos buffer while audio continues, and after a few seconds the issue often resolves. I had my GPU replaced through RMA, and the problem gradually returned. My setup includes a Ryzen 9 5900X with Wraith Prism Cooler, 16 GB Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz (CPU-Z reports 1066 MHz, unsure why), an Aorus B550i Pro AX BIOS F18c from ASUS, ROG Strix RX 6750 XT (ASUS dual overclocked), a Lian Li SP750 80Plus Gold SFX, and NZXT H1 (2019) with an updated Rizer cable.
OS and game performance issues have been resolved. Stuttering has stopped, and the slow startup is fixed. I downloaded Samsung Magician and updated the Samsung SSD firmware, which was used as my game drive—even though it wasn’t my OS drive. Hardware acceleration in YouTube videos still causes buffering, and graphics card usage results in black screens. These black screens can be temporarily fixed by powering off the PC and restarting it a few times.
Do you have the most recent cpu-z release and updated drivers installed? Which storage devices are connected to your system?
Latest GPU drivers installed at version 23.11.1. Storage devices listed: Samsung 980 1TB SSD, WD CH SN530 512GB SSD, Toshiba MQ01ABD100 1TB HDD. CPU-Z now displays accurate speeds.
What operating system is running? Are the newest AMD chipset drivers present? Probably won’t change much. The GPU might be the issue, though.
nzxt hardware and possibly software... corsair Vengeance ram... it seems not your GPU there. Try disabling xmp and any overclocking. Also remove nzxt CAM if you have it installed, then power off the PC and restart. In such a tight situation, that's interesting... what are the temperatures, especially before the screen goes black or performance drops, but also overall?
The operating system is installed on the WD SSD chipset, and the drivers are current.
XMP was consistently active; I didn’t overclock since the card was already boosted, and I’m hesitant to try again after damaging an MSI 2060. Temperatures sit between 49 to 52°C during idle, and the idle CAM has been removed.
