Valve might choose not to release Half-Life 3.
Despite questionable origins, the reasoning holds up. There are countless inexperienced players who would go after Valve and their developers if HL3 had any flaws. They might do it regardless of how flawless the game is, just for attention. Valve’s headquarters functions more like a large revenue generator. As long as they keep making substantial profits, releasing HL3 seems safe from risk.
This makes perfect sense. They clearly aren’t aiming to let anyone down with an HL3 update.
