Valorant puede hacer que Windows 11 se ralentice.
I recently reinstalled Valorant after a long break, and it’s now causing my PC to become extremely slow. The game itself is very laggy, with frame rates dropping from 200 to just 30 and frequent freezes. Even switching to the desktop via alt-tab makes things worse, and I’m forced to quit the game entirely to restore performance. I’ve tested other titles like GTA V Online, a quick diamond casino heist, Roblx, and MC with shaders, but they all run smoothly. Only Valorant behaves this way after the update. Anyone else facing this issue?
Consider running the game with administrator rights.
What is the model and manufacturer of your motherboard? Which BIOS version are you using for it? Provide details about your PSU, including its make, model, and age.
Attempt to run DDU in Safe Mode to eliminate all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia), then install the newest GPU driver from Nvidia's support site manually. Use an elevated command, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
They recently made updates to their engine/graphics, which are causing some performance problems. It's unclear if 2GB of VRAM is enough to run it smoothly now (the website states a minimum requirement of 4GB VRAM and 16GB RAM). Consider lowering all settings to see if it improves performance.
I’m using a Biostar B365MHC motherboard and a Thermaltake Litepower PSU. I’m not certain about the driver version installed yet. For my setup, which includes an i3 with a GTX 1050, I’m not under heavy load. I’m considering a clean reinstall of the GPU driver to see if it resolves the problem. A temporary workaround I’ve tried is enabling V-Sync or limiting FPS to 60, which seems to help. Could you explain why this issue is occurring? Thanks!
I’m checking CPU-Z, navigating to the mainboard section and should see the BIOS version listed there. BIOS is firmware, not a driver. Regarding the power supply, it’s a Thermaltake Litepower unit—Thermaltake is the brand, and Litepower is the specific model. The power rating for these units is well-known to be problematic, often linked with Gigabyte’s P series power supplies that tend to fail. They’re not reliable and can cause issues.
My mistake, it's a 650w. I assumed it wouldn't exceed 250w at full load, but I should have been more careful. As for its age, I purchased it in 2022, did some PC testing for a day, and hadn't used it until last year. I'll check the BIOS version when I get home. Thanks!
Valorant doesn't need powerful hardware because it's designed to run smoothly on older systems. Your graphics card and processor might not be up to the task, so you might want to think about upgrading them.
