I somehow obtained our admin credentials... Two years later they discovered and planned to file charges. Luckily I had an admin password to wipe everything clean.

Just avoid it completely, no matter how strong the urge. If things fail and you're caught... well, it hurts. A criminal record stays with you forever.

Modify the hosts file to send all traffic to rickroll.com. Enhance security by reviewing documentation, and keep it in an envelope placed on the principal's office door.

Avoid interfering with any school or university computer systems. If you notice obvious security weaknesses, send emails to the administrators—based on my experience, they usually respond quickly and resolve these problems promptly. If you're caught, the consequences can be severe. Educational institutions generally disapprove of such actions and may take strict measures, including expulsion if applicable.
