Utilizing an ISO file
Utilizing an ISO file
Hi there, I'm trying to set up a new PC with Windows 10 after upgrading from Windows 8.1. I have an ISO file from my old PC, but I'm wondering if I can use it on my new machine without needing a product key. Since my previous system was Windows 8.1 and didn't have a license code, I'm not sure if the same applies here. Also, I don't have access to the BIOS settings because everything is on one device—my Samsung 5 Style laptop.
And yes, I realize there are many spelling mistakes. I'm Dutch, that's why I say this.
The ISO works perfectly, but the key isn't compatible. You'll need to purchase a replacement. The key tied to your motherboard won't activate Windows 10.
Earlier upgrades will trigger themselves automatically without needing a key. If not, activation isn’t required. Windows 10 remains functional even without activation. There’s no time restriction, no intrusive prompts, and no black screen—just gentle guidance that emerges gradually.
