You can adjust proxy configurations through the window settings, confirm them using a traceroute, and ensure a strong password is used. Otherwise, no further problems will appear once connected via VPN, as it will function similarly to any other VPN service based on your data center location.

Sure, that's a good alternative to consider. I hadn't thought about it before. I attempted to set up my Private Internet Access Proxy in the software proxy settings (FollowLiker), but it didn't work. I might try using the proxy on the VPS instead.
