Running an OC'd CPU under heavy stress isn't ideal for longevity. I suggest a dh-15 with solid overclocking potential, though the NH-U14S seems capable of light OC at moderate loads. You likely won't need a power supply that's overly powerful, but an 850/1000W unit would be beneficial. Regarding the motherboard, prices have risen significantly, so quality matters more than cost. Ensure the board isn't faulty and has good reviews. For extreme overclocking, consider a custom loop or high-end AIO options like 360mm or 480mm. A Noctua Dh-15 works well for mid-range overclocking, and the U14S should handle light OC under normal use. Threadrippers can be cooled well at stock temps, but they heat up quickly with higher power.

If it operates around the clock and you prefer little upkeep, custom water cooling and overclocking aren't advisable. You're correct. Opt for an NH-D15.

During testing I observed that the NH-D14 threadripper performed better than the BeQuiet threadripper dark rock pro 4, even though the NH-D14 is a single tower and the BeQuiet is a dual-tower cooler. The improved contact with the IHS likely contributed to its performance. I don't believe the NH-D15 has been tested, but would it still surpass the 14-TR-version with a standard contact plate?
