Hi! Your new laptop should work with the older one, but make sure the RAM types match. The new laptop has an 8GB slot, and the old one has a 2GB slot—so you’ll need to install the 2GB stick into the correct 2GB slot on your new machine.

They’re incompatible—don’t confuse them. The label with the notch indicates they’re distinct RAM models. A 2GB DDR3 chip won’t fit in your device at all.

It's unlikely. Your new laptop probably uses DDR4 while your old one uses DDR3. Checking the RAM stick and memory slot will show mismatched pins, which means it won't function properly.
