After six months with my initial rig, I noticed it wasn’t leveraging the full potential of the RAM I purchased because of my mistakes in choosing compatible options. It stops working when I try to set the OC to maximum speed in BIOS with XMP. The motherboard details only confirm OC support for single-channel 16GB memory, not the full 32GB dual-channel version. I’m planning to upgrade the case and motherboard soon to improve the form factor and unlock more memory capacity. I’ve been searching for some time but haven’t found a suitable M.2 slot without also needing a CPU upgrade. Shrink case size significantly while keeping GPU intact 2. Keep CPU and RAM at their rated dual-channel speeds 3. Retain current cooling setup 4. Maintain PSU rating I’m flexible, open to any board that allows OC memory speed plus a 10th-gen i9 processor – even if it’s not a mini ITX, as long as the case is smaller than the H510 mid-tower. My goal is to relocate to Mexico without bringing a large, flashy machine that signals gaming status or high costs.
Asus ROG Strix Z590-i Gaming features built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It offers dual memory slots supporting 5000MHz+ OC speeds. Despite its compact ITX design, it packs a strong punch. The price is steep, but the build quality is solid. A more suitable option might be a full ATX motherboard.
