Hello everyone, I'm an Indian student using an ASUS ROG LAPTOP G532LV-AZ046T with RTX2060 and i7-10th gen, 24 GB RAM. About three years ago I noticed slow performance and high temps (up to 95°C) even with minimal use (15%-20%). I checked these issues using Armoury Crate software, which ASUS includes. My laptop originally had liquid metal thermal paste, but after replacement they switched to a standard $3 paste. I'm wondering if this will affect my performance when running machine learning tasks, especially if I plan to use the GPU for 10-12 hours. Also, how long should the thermal paste last? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
if it already has liquid metal then normal thermal paste will decrease performance and thermal paste should last about 5 years

did you purchase this from a seller or a used one? it seems someone opened it and swapped out regular thermal paste for liquid metal. likely they cleaned everything up, since liquid metal can damage solder. based on my experience, laptops tend to overheat when dust clogs the fan and fin system—cleaning them usually improves cooling. if you use an air compressor, be careful: holding the fans in place while cleaning can cause them to spin too fast and potentially fail.
