You can press Shift + W, S, or Q to bypass typing and start typing normally.

Wait, what? There’s nothing else to do? I don’t want to type all caps just for one letter :*(

You haven't encountered these issues before, so adjustments to keyboard shortcuts in settings might help.

I'm using the standard QWERTY layout. Let me know if you need help with anything else!

which device are you using? Is it a laptop? Can you use other capital letters with SHIFT plus a letter, or is it limited to W, A, S, D, W, S, Q? Where exactly are you typing, and does the result change across different programs (provide examples)? Access a virtual console. Try entering W, A, S, D and Q using SHIFT, and see if it works in any app. This will help identify whether the problem lies within the GUI or if the whole setup is malfunctioning. Consider running xev from a terminal emulator (installation may be required) and pressing those keys while doing so. Share the output somewhere—it will be extensive. With your details, it’s likely an unusual keyboard layout or a misconfigured gaming keyboard/software. Another possibility is a non-standard gaming device or emulator interfering. Unless you installed Ubuntu on a second-hand machine, the risk of this happening is low. If that’s the case, you might need to wipe the drive and reinstall. EDIT: I realized you’re having trouble with SHIFT+W, S, Q instead of W, A, S, D. My advice remains similar, but the idea of a special gaming keyboard or software seems less probable (WASD would suggest a gaming H/W or software error). Updated December 9, 2020 – suggestion about xev included, typo corrected; fourth point slightly adjusted for clarity.**

It was actually the KDE Connect shortcuts... I used shift + Q or shift + W or shift + S. After changing them, everything worked properly. Thanks!
