I'm working on determining whether it's possible to connect your shield to your PC for streaming and recording. You want to avoid using a mouse or keyboard while still getting the video feed through your PC to your monitor, speakers, and same setup. Anyone have any ideas or methods for this?

The Shield Tablet includes an HDMI port, but you’ll need a capture card for that. Some apps can achieve this through your home network, though they often suffer from poor quality—color accuracy, resolution, and latency are usually compromised. A dedicated HDMI capture card tends to be costly, and the shield could interfere with HDCP compliance (a cheap DVI HDMI converter won’t solve this). Personally, I’ve relied on the AverMedia H727 for over four years; it’s fully stable and delivers solid performance, only minor input lag and limited to 720p/1080i. I also use a workaround discovered in a French forum to circumvent HDCP restrictions.

It needs to be connected to the PC or interact with it because of recording requirements. For simple capture, a mentioned device works well. You can also convert the shield into a computer using add-ons—connect HDMI to your monitor, use a special hub for speakers, and plug in mouse and keyboard via OTG cable.

I enjoy using BlueStacks but dislike its problems. I need this so I can keep my monitor and speakers the same, minimize the screen when needed, record sessions, and enjoy smooth Android gaming without the issues BlueStacks causes!
