You just got a new RAM module, but your PC crashes and restarts when playing games. Since your old 2400MHz RAM works, it’s possible the issue isn’t with that. Check if the new RAM is compatible with your motherboard (MSI A-Pro Max) and processor (Ryzen 7 3700X). Also, try resetting the system or updating drivers to see if that helps.

The initial concern seems to be QVL compatibility... Does the updated RAM function at its standard, non-DOCP rates? Is it one 32GB module or two 16GB ones? Was the existing RAM upgraded or swapped out?

I have swapped in the new 16GB drives and updated the RAM. My friend recommended reducing the RAM speed in the BIOS—could that improve performance?

Consider skipping the DOCP profile and test the results. Check for updated BIOS that offers improved stability.

Could be too fast for the chipset. My friend also had the same problem with an MSI Tomahawk B550, especially with dims 1 and 3. Try dims 2 and 4. He went to Microcenter to return it and ended up getting an ASUS X570 Strix.
