Supersampling offers limited improvement. The difference in quality is mainly due to hardware constraints. I’d likely choose it if I could afford 2 to 3 months of expenses. Otherwise, I’d hold off until a better deal appears.
Right now, the best option to get the PRO is through the upgrade form that just buys the headset, but it costs 800 BUCKS. Save some money now and wait for HTC to lower the price. Once it drops to about half, consider upgrading. Super sampling helps with clarity, but the main issue is still the screen resolution—only higher resolution will really make a difference.
Vive Pro Starter Kit US$1099 comes with controllers and a base station. This setup seems better than just a headset, allowing you to maintain existing configurations for future use or resale while transitioning to the Pro version.
They don't really get much better performance beyond around 300 to 400 on a good day. The main reason for the price jump is just what you'd get by selling your existing gear.
