Using Nvidia or AMD GPUs in nginx with ffmpeg for live streaming on Ubuntu Server
Hello, everyone. My stream uses a two-pack setup and runs intermittently. I stream in 1080p with a second PC and Nginx acting as a pass-through to both a local box and the streaming sites (FB and YT). My Linux machine has an Intel i7-7700K with 8GB RAM. Previously, I upgraded to a new PC but kept the old hardware for this configuration. I have an old Nvidia GTX 960 that I want to use via Nginx. Can this be done on Linux without special drivers?
It's a user interface built around NGINX with GPU transcoding capabilities. I haven't personally tested it, so opinions are limited. Regarding drivers, I'm not familiar with Ubuntu Server's setup—most GPU drivers rely on X11, which isn't available on servers.
