Powerline adapters experience significant bandwidth reduction. The unshielded copper wiring in walls isn't designed for fast data transfer. A colleague used them because the router was on the floor and his room was above, but he noticed about a 70% decrease in speed.

For optimal performance and dependability, opt for a proper wired connection. Use an Ethernet cable rather than powerline adapters or Wi-Fi, as the latter tends to be unreliable with many wireless devices nearby. It may require some effort, but the results are well worth it.
