I employ an M570 Trackball, but it isn't ideal for fast-paced gaming. Switching to a wired mouse is an option, and you can simply turn off the trackball and connect the mouse when needed. For the wireless trackball, you'll also need to remove its USB dongle.

As long as no one interferes with the secondary mouse/track ball, plugging in is fine. You can connect 100 mice and they should all function properly provided you use them one at a time; if you try to use multiple simultaneously, the mouse won't move or some will add an extra pointer to the screen.
