It seems challenging to fit a Bluetooth device directly onto the motherboard, especially a M.2 type. Most laptops use built-in antennas, which makes external antennas less practical. PCIe Express isn’t really suited for this purpose either. You might need a different approach or a more specialized setup.

The issue is that it turns into a massive eyesore. For instance, on phones, there aren't those large antennas; they're compact, yet still functional. Why is that?

They conceal them within the glass showcase at the top of the device, either beside or above the camera. This typically limits the usable Wi-Fi distance and is difficult for most computers because of the substantial metal construction built into a Faraday cage to safeguard internal components and avoid interference with other gadgets. In short, placing antennas inside the case is largely unfeasible.

Ugh, it seems like these are lifetime licenses.

It's great that you're considering placement—having it hidden on the back keeps it out of sight and easy to forget.

I've got a USB port built into the back of my keyboard, which is fine, but we could make it easier.

Find this option to conceal the receiver within the enclosure. https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Moth...B002GNU2V6

The interior of a case isn't always a perfect signal blocker. And yes, you can lose USB ports on your case.
