Using an NTFS hard drive on a Mac isn't working—please seek assistance!
Hi, so a bit of background I'm a life long Windows user. However my wife uses a Mac Book... and I know nothing about how they work except some quick Google searches... So up until about 2 weeks ago my wife was happily using an NTFS formatted hard drive on her Mac Book... now that hard drive can't be read by her Mac Book but I can see it on my Windows Laptop (and all the files) so we know that data is there and it's not corrupted... From what I can see there is software on the Mac Book called "NTFS for MAC" (I think its called) but it keeps coming up saying its stopped working and needs to restart (FSApp Quite Unexpectedly)... it never does... The Mac Book is running the latest version of MACOS Ventura 13.3.1 .... My wife took her Mac Book in to our local Mac shop and they said to reformat the hard drive using the Mac as there is no way of getting it to work otherwise... Is this right? is this the best option? The Windows user in me is screaming there must be a better way as the data isn't corrupt so formatting it can't be the best option... Plus it has thousands of family photo's on it so we would really prefer not to format it if we can avoid it... Any help much appreciated as I'm a bit in the dark on this one. Thanks Adam
