Using additional mouse buttons for volume adjustment
Using additional mouse buttons for volume adjustment
I'm looking for gaming headsets without volume control but wanting to adjust volume using the scroll while playing games like CS:GO. I need to turn this feature on/off using the extra mouse buttons you have. This function didn't work in-game, but X-Mouse did. Can someone help me figure out how to do this with your mouse model?
You’d need software that can mimic volume controls or reprogram mouse functions. It’s easier to pause briefly and press keyboard shortcuts instead.
I lack access to media control keys and the keyboard is simple.
Mouse applications offer pre-set software or desktop controls. The issue lies in activating another button. I understand the Roccats mouse (such as my Kova+) includes an EasyShift+ function that lets one button mimic CTRL or SHIFT. Typically, this isn't possible. Another option is creating two identical mouse profiles and switching between them when you need volume changes. Alternatively, simply assign volume control to those additional buttons.
You can purchase an in-line volume control on Amazon for about $6 to $10. It’s possible to create your own volume control with AutoHotKey by using keyboard shortcuts like Shift+NumPad plus or minus.
