I'm setting up a new computer and have a wifi adapter with drivers on a disc. I don't intend to add an optical drive, but I have an old Dell with an optical drive that uses the same connectors. I'm wondering if I can temporarily move the optical drive from Dell into my new computer while installing drivers. For the adapter, I'm using an Asus USB-N53 and tried searching online for driver transfers, but the results didn't match what I needed. If moving the optical drive isn't possible, could you help me find the right drivers for the adapter? Thanks.

I purchased an external optical drive and used it once. It works perfectly every time.

Ensure the same connectors (SATA/IDE) are used. When installing drivers, verify you're using the latest versions from the site and transfer them to a USB drive. Using outdated drivers on newer OS or hardware may cause issues.

I searched for drivers and what I found didn't look like typical drivers. You can check the link provided: http://www.asus.com/us/Networking/USBN53..._Download/. If you need clarification on how it functions, let me know.

Choose your operating system from the dropdown menu. Installing the updated wireless drivers is essential; they don’t install utilities and are just useless bloatware. Need more clarification? Just say it.

Some people dislike optical drives because they feel outdated, but many still rely on them for important tasks.

Check the instructions provided with the item. If not visible, look for a setup file or guide that explains installation steps.
